# what we were saying last week about the university library it's definitely brought back old recent dusty overdue memories about being swindled over our own seeming 'education' from the age of school onward we remember queues in the library reaching back almost to the front door from what we were saying gosh times have changed but the question still arises are the books they give out now any less inherently useless than the books which came before another vital related question is what (exactly) the heck are all these busy worker bees being educated for to not be part of the glorious biopsychedelic sci fi postgrad noir retro 80's scientific revolution of the near-future now that's what one good thing about any university library as an untapped resource is that there exist loads of old classics (well five) sitting there on shelves accumulating dust mites and sociology beard shavings vital research by mumford marshall ham and work by authors like blake no researcher ever loaned these out because they're too busy reading textbooks about pet psychology badger management or software twerking for beginners if you see any good books in library anything even a little out of the ordinary with good pictures or titles researchers wouldn't normally have access to or know about then spare a thought for even a large airport novel can with practice and a spare afternoon be skimmed onto a spare holographic memstick in seconds using remote biopsychic scanning methodologies any enterprising students might first think about choosing a machine and scanner combo that only requires logging in with *ahem someone else's* student name and lab number first such extra curricular student activity is useful partly because it encourages a free (at least conceptually) exchange of ideas cultural modes tones and unique flavours it doesn't depend on library opening hours but gets it directly out here in 'republic of bob' where researchers can use it for reading or as seeds for other cool intense alternative luxury rnd // republic of bob
