# what's life like in endland
what a question let's see
we've got understatement we're tough on slogans and causes of slogans
there are often strong prevailing south-westerly winds
seventy eight percent of the days are overcast
they are one nation under holotelevision
high dreaming clouds can often be seen in the middle distance
its population is infused with wistful melancholy yet this apparently relentlessly chipper idiosyncratic crowd is prone to mild eccentricity binge drinking and casual urban ultraviolets
breakfast is served seven till nine but no later
shopping catalogues of our non-refundable dreams are laminated as to catch falling tears of working class hyper-consumerist joy
on-island as we like to put it there's lot of 'puttering around' general 'mucking about' and 'hanging on in quiet desperation in the same goldfish bowl year after year'
our actual national anthem is 'zip dee doo dah' as performed by portisdread with special arrangement by researcher bill
we often experience new quivering feelings in the upper spine upon merely envisioning black and white checkerboard tiling patterns in cold tall silent hallways of upper middle class houses with nice gardens and mystic conservatories
there's the sense that such black white checkerboard tiling patterns are somehow acutely symbolic of puzzles labyrinths and an otherworldly irrealty waiting beneath the cobblestones of every mundane highstreet realty
we often don't speak directly to other local community residents but via slow drifting social osmosis pick up all manner of feelings thoughts and emotions
say that one is a potential serial media thriller one a retired professor working on a mystery / zx spectrum based poly dimensional travel device and one seems a member of existentially stranded woodland fairy folk disguised in human form
other than that endlandian life too often miserable and shabby and most ordinary citizens desperately escape or at least try to through art second hand sci fi books and infinite up / left scrolling
it is to these lost souls this lab rnd field entry is dedicated
