# why gta v sucks
an attempt at one of those "gta v sucks!" posts via theodore miles
"gta v sucks" - as do all those blatant 100 out of a 100 corporate shill reviews; it's less a garme and more just an interactive advert for itself; a huge hollow and boring simulation of a vague garme ideal called "gta v"
apart from pretend to play it and pretend to have fun there's really nothing to do (precisely because you can do anything); behind all the hype dipping framerates and texture pop there's no real garme to play (though maybe that's because most garmes are 'garmey' ie. have all the odor and superficial flash of 'video garmes' - yet zero substance)
as for playing tennis and skydiving - so what? why can't you do both at once? why can't you play tennis on the freeway or practice yoga on top of a moving train?
nobody needs to drive around some monotonous electronic nowhere for untold wasted hours waiting for anything interesting to happen
to prey for an unscripted mecha godzilla to come and destroy this franchise sandbox city instead; a terminally dull nonplace in total lockdown where the illusion of free player choice rules with utmost cynicism
at least gta vice city had that cheap 80s style and tacky neon vibe; gta v seems designed by a joyless committee of tie-wearing funsters headed by joel silver ie. "it's got everything" in it - an empty shell stuffed to the brim with tasteless filler
the three main 2d characters - michael franklin and trevor - embody the ugly best of white (as a state of mind) western hypercapitali$m; desperate suffering from mania depressed profoundly self absorbed proud of ir willing stupidly and hatred and ruthlessly murderous
nothing in gta v is a 'parody' of anything in real society; there's no 'satire' at work there - just overt celebration
and hey rockstar what's up with all your blatant racism?
only glitches mods and the intelligence of (/pc) garmers can save such bland safe (right wing) and unimaginative video garmes
the future of garming as gta v: bland flashy ugly sadistic misogynistic and meaningless
