# unity 3d's underwhelming teleporter demo
// video here
something about the light in this unity 3d demo appears flat dull and generally lifeless - without visual punch
it's as though everything's made of moderately glossy paper or flimsy plastic covered in a fine layer of satin dust
such lighting seems to prevent enough aesthetic contrast occurring
no heat at all seems to be emitted from the engine's heated up revolving core
it sounds vague but "pretty but somehow unconvincing" could apply
by way of (somewhat obvious) contrast this engine's lighting seems positively cinematic(tm) in comparison - not merely different but quantitatively better
// video here
this alone however does not explain the number of developers switching engines during development - or choosing unreal engine from the outset simply because ir shay dee developer cynicism tells them they can make quick hard cash by making a garme that they somehow consider 'looks real(tm)'
