hmm this seems like bad writing. (perhaps "we lost everything - even our stories"?) first off who's this mystical 'we'? and define 'everything'
and what's so great about these 'our stories' anyhow? it seems doubtful that the story about our stories obduction addresses aren't seen seen as anything other than 'naturally human' - and therefore distinctly symbolic of a cognitive kansas where the homely stink of mom's all-amerikan apple pie can still be detected even on the most distant of alien worlds. (this despite the fact teh garme seems to precisely question and engage with these ideas?)
