# critique of the cool devil daggers trailer
**+** there's a neat quake / citadel of chaos feel
**+** it's a bit undercooked conceptually and needs at least two more inter-acting layers of garme mechanics to flesh it out
**+** there needs to be more grounding backstory / narrative - who is shooting at what and why? example
you are (or rather were) amon dax - traveler thief and ill-advised dabbler in the dark ancient arts of defensive spellcasting. having stolen one of two priceless crystal devil devil daggers from a local warlock you now find yourself trapped in the terrible undead dimension of karshuul - known to the warlock's cult adepts as the summoning plains. your final punishment for countless misdeeds. now armed only with the terrifying power of the dagger and your own skill face your literal demons and imagine what awaits you out here in the infinite receding darkness.
**+** the attack patterns of the creatures could be more interesting if they collided with another even occasionally killing one another; slight random (sudden small yet unexpected) changes in patterns and speed would encourage strategical thinking by the player instead of mere endless circle strafing
**+** blood splashes should appear on other creatures
**+** perhaps the creatures could meaningfully respond to pain either retreating or getting temporarily more dangerous just before death perhaps swelling in size and glowing before popping loudly (this would also mean the player has to react)
**+** it might be cool to be able to ride one of these creatures for a while - they should respond like wild horses andor at some point take the player up in the air to the point to which death by fall damage becomes a possibility
**+** maybe some ancient ruined structures on this endless plain - tall standalone castle walls and minarets; these should be completely destructible yet offer both temporary shelter and hold unique powerups for the player
**+** soundwise positional audio seems a good choice - but there needs to be more vocal response from the creatures in terms of pain reaction and the hollow rattling of old bones. also perhaps a sharper volume fall-off rate as the creatures approach and retreat
**+** consider the choice of slower but more effective charged attacks; maybe also a spell to temporarily control one of creatures as a defence drone
**+** boss monsters should be ridiculously epic and oversized - huge demons spewing lessor creatures from ir mouth
**+** more tentacles!
