# battlefield netcode as inherently un-fixable trash talk > such is the last stage of the social relation ours which is no longer one of persuasion (the classical age of propaganda of ideology of publicity etc.) but one of deterrence: "you are information you are the social you are the event you are involved you have the word etc." > ~ jean baudrillard simulacra and simulations consider internet barking over issues like battlefield "netcode" as inherently non-optimizable 'netcode' itself such angry netcode 'discussions' seem to consist of **+** genuine(tm) player complaints / entitled whining **+** infinite suggestions by instant experts for instant fixes **+** raking over old dead ground / "me too!" comments such euphoric bitterness crossed wires half truths casual apathy and impossibly wild informed / uninformed speculation can be classed under the noise / brain-sucking power of "communication" pseudo-ironically battlefield and all other such war garmes of conflict are only ever about effectively / aggressively mass communicating the dim fact that rather than talking with and listening to people all one simply ever wants to do is **+** trash talk at them over the mic / shoot them in the face / t-bag them note the associated vietnam-esque misnomer of 'military intelligence' ie. there is none it's non-surprising that discussions / mediated rapture over vaporous toxic cloudly issues(tm) like netcode has philosophical parallels to the fog of war - that is to take part is already to signal one's innate confusion such militaristic (battlefield) communication obscures the fact one is a willing (if mostly unconscious) participant on that field of battle - and therefore subject to / a generator of the inherent fog of communication sure one can say 'nice' things over the mic - "good garme!" - but note the entire baseline context is always that of conflict of aggression - which never communicates anything other than it's own constant inherent limitation it's not that such loose (netcode) talk 'descends' or degrades into name calling (client / server) side-talking or other spontaneous outbursts of violent anti-intellectualism.. but merely that one is still somehow playing "battlefield" even when 'offline' here famous battlefield salesman / evangelist jackfrags discusses 'the big questions' // video here one is reminded of two old men talking out of ir arts about ir current favorite area of expertise: "well of course they should increase the tick rate - obviously" > these protests seem to converge in a series of demands which in ir very spontaneity and obviousness form a kind of epistemological obstacle to the proper confrontation with the ongoing crisis > ~ slavoj zizek (a reply to my critics birkbeck university february 28 2013) // republic of bob
