# playgrounding aka social game spaces
situations / simulations
similarly "playgrounding" is a more general video game concept regarding game spaces': (/social) spaces for multiple often overlapping / simultaneous modes and styles of experimental abstract emergent risky and whimsical collaborative play
garry's mod is the main example of a playground game space
scientists should be able to create and discover (/themselves and others) through play when and how they want to
inherently open source and less goal orientated playgrounds seem more scientific than mere single games (?)
game engines themselves as a whole should be reconsidered as heavily customizable finely-grained game spaces or playgrounds - ie. the tools are teh game
it is often not enough to say "we give them the tools they make the world" (garry newman rust) - scientists and communities that create art through play need compensating
