# new bluesky followers the 'good' news is that i've now got over a hundred followers not that i wouldn't prefer a hundred quid in my rough working artist hand over virtual nothing but still it seems a good symbolic start right - anyone update: no it isn't all turns not a single one of the people 'following' me are actually following what i'm doing or saying rather they've merely clicked 'follow' - a marked difference they might as well of trained a dirty pigeon to randomly peck a large seed-flecked 'follow' button i mean you've got to follow *somebody* right - as for actually giving a heavily oxidized penny about them or what they're posting well that's for the birds 'following' on social it turns out is infinitely worse then random (which at least seems conceptually 'fair' from a physics-mathematics perspective) - it's entirely arbitrary 'following' is in fact a dark cosmic absurdity - because if you just click 'follow' for no real reason ("just because i felt like doing it at that particular instant" / "the vibes were right") but then don't ever like or comment on anything the person you're following says - then why the heck are either of you doing there they're posting into the void and ir dead content is showing up on your feed with not even a glimmer of recognition or interest so what you're really saying and the only thing you're saying with this 'follow' nonsense is.. that you're simply there to scroll mindlessly down an arbitrary pigeon feed of content without any real interest or genuine human engagement - like some stupidity machine running blind on fully automatic elvischrist that's utterly depressing - what on dead virtual earth are we even doing here people talk to me anyone please // republic of bob
