funny how the meaning of something changes depending on how one approaches it
have just noticed that since this rsi flare-up of mine i've had approximately *zero* treatment; prescriptions for pain killers don't count
all i've had is endless rounds of 'consultation' - consulted by this and that doctor - and other doctors who then made a 'recommendation' that i go see yet another quack; several months of near-constant pain extreme discomfort and a distinct lack of healthy sleep - but no actual *treatment*
it's like i'm caught in an ant-like death spiral consisting of endless rounds and roundabouts of referrals and consultations - and all the while i receive no actual damn *treatment* for my condition
and i'm beginning to smell the stink of bs coming from the whole lousy system
exactly how many rounds and referrals must one endure - including 6 1/2 agonising hours utterly wasted in accident and emergency - before some actual damn *healing* takes place?
i'm not some forever-ongoing long-term field-study i am a human being suffering pain right this very instant; so stop fobbing me off with ever more appointments consultations referrals and general time-wasting bs and *actually treat-me*
by now i would have at least expected an injection for the pain or some mild hands-on massage from a qualified expert - but no; nothing
all i get is hours on the phone waiting to talk to docs who (due to the nature of the modern nhs) are neither genuinely concerned about one's suffering nor have the time to do anything but 'monitor the situation'
that is while my damn shoulder feels like it's on fire i'm being 'treated' only as an ongoing source of data - some dumb passive *thing* to be collected processed managed mis-managed shoved from department to the next and generally ignored as a human being; i and my pain are mere objects to be processed in the system - actual immediate hands-on treatment however is nowhere to be seen a forever-retreating future horizon of vague woolly possibility
if treatment say were 'arriving at a castle' then my shoulder pain would be kafka who's unending journey to ir destination of *actual treatment and healing* are forever delayed sidetracked interrupted - one is casually kicked from department to department like a crumpled ball of paper with numbers on it
these numbers incidentally consist of all the bs questions i've been repeatedly asked *ad-nauseam* since the start of my pain; i must have been given the same set of useless tests at least four times; does *nobody* keep notes on what the patient is saying about ir condition - and if they do are these even shared among the various infinite departments and sub-departments of the cosmically useless giant labyrinthine system that is the nhs?
nobody wants to actually treat me it seems they merely want to observe at a casual safe (stage) managed distance; via x-rays (two) - via mri scans (two to come) - and via referrals (more than bloody well necessary imo - and not only referrals but also mere 'recommendations for a referral')
the whole system = a disgusting sick joke and utterly moronic in design from top to bottom; the only people really being served here are big pharma and the endless private companies directly profiteering from people's suffering
i'm also not sure i'd be any further along the infinite misty path to *actual treatment* if i'd gone the private healthcare route as they also seem deathly reluctant to treat patients - sorry customers - quickly for anything that might only require *non expensive treatment*
if there was a possibility i had something serious that required an immediate and expensive course of treatment or other healthcare service then you can bet i'd be in the capable hands of a surgeon or therapist in under a week - just that first they've got to 'assess' the customer for ir potential future ability to pay the big bucks for those expensive forms of corporate treatment which make the biggest profits
basically if i didn't know better i'd say that (structurally speaking) the entire nhs is based on nothing but the greed of a bunch of soulless time wasting seat polishing corporate vampires who will do absolutely anything *not* to treat you unless you're literally on fire; sure individual underpaid staff members might give a damn but *everyone* i've met so far seems to giving the strong impression they're all merely (actively) waiting for patient's symptoms to simply disappear of ir own accord - only if you're on death's door *might* they decide to give you anything more than a shrug some aspirin a referral and a bs 'let's wait and see' attitude
start fixing my arm pain you useless pen-pushing seat-polishing mothers - it hurts!
