# competing with lauren's rotating sandwiches
> they don't hear me cry
> they don't hear me try
> ~ the world (is going up in flames) by charles bradley
mulch like that one guy who posts nothing but mushroom-content(tm) and / yet gets like a billion views per flocking post - lauren here not only has a site of rotating sandwiches an award but also 132.7k followers on social. i have 167 - and think i should exist in a fairer society in which i get more of a fairer chance to exist and express myself
i guess it's not enough to have actual good ideas - just merely clever ones
you know like that classic "fifty shades of greyscale" book on amazon
something - anything - that makes easily pleased and permanently online people o' whiteness clap like circus seals for the next soulless bit of braindead net content
think i read something about lauren saying they wanted to make the net silly again
silly hmm not sure i quite read it that way - i tend toward thinking about it in terms of "whitey making the net safe (conflict free) for themselves"
much like those endless posts on social featuring perfectly lit cupcakes in cosy coffee shops - the whitewashing of the net as a negative global cultural force seems more precisely the point
that is to make the entire net nice(tm) for a certain class of colourless consumer droids so they successfully avoid any remote potential for troublesome thoughts (you know - stuff like the fact they're overwhelmingly responsible for destroying the entire flocking planet with their nice soft-headed whipeo bs)
so i'm staring at these mothering rotating sarnies and er - and i don't feel a goddamn thing it's the art equivalent of pharmacological mood-levellers you just stare at them they rotate and you feel (to paraphrase the pfloyd) uncomfortably numb
you just look at all the nice rotating sandwiches and - it's like you've been faintly paralysed at the conceptual level by it's brain-damaging _safeness_ - it's all so flat and obvious and systematically devoid of actual meaning
i mean pfft they're pictures of sandwiches that rotate for flock's sake bfd talk about quickly finding one's upper talent-limit
am not sure that's lauren's precise intention for how it's correctly meant to be received but - like a lot of utterly soulless "white wine and white art on white walls" such allegedly oh-so-clever(tm) art appears to ideologically mirror gen-ai dogslop antiart
that is it's the safe undead art of global colonial whiteness; soulless techno-cracker bullshit only pale stale internet basement chuds find remotely worthy of their attention
yet only a real flocking dunce would think "gee i wish i'd thought of that" like really what about literally anything else it doesn't have to be groundbreaking just a little beyond any content(tm) whitey might find delightful
how desperately unthinking and low-effort it all feels
but then all that merely sounds like easily dismissed sour gapes a kind of intense vicious green-tinted jealously that's apparently not a good look
yeah i mean let's not talk about deeply troubling actual reality based shed like systemic inequality or anything let's just blame the angry artist's simple lack of cool for not having thought of rotating sandwiches first
lol fuck that whiteboy shit how about someone else get a single goddamn look in for a change
i literally busted my right arm rsi-wise after slog-editing a giant novel for three solid months to the point it started hurting so much i started crying out loud and agony and had to call the ambulance to come help ease my pain (only there were no ambulances available because endland is a terminally useless shedhole and so i had to sit alone in accident and emergency for six and a half flocking hours clutching my arm until a nurse eventulally saw me for a mere five minutes and prescribed me the weakest painkillers possible)
this is the realer grinding art-work you baskets not some faintly smug rotating sandwich vibe casually tossed off for the grim appreciation of a brain-rotted generation of simpleton tossers
ok all the best to fellow artist lauren - heck it's not her fault her art's pale and stale one should be championing people in one's fellow community right - if only it were for the doubt quietly pounding in my heart that makes one suspect some are more in the community than others if you knowhatimsayin
oh well back to the grindstone perhaps one day i'll be as clever as the anointed ones in the rotating sandwich scene and they'll notice me take pity and throw some sandwich crumbs my way for which i'll be eternally grateful
