# sorry my face is tired (mess effect andromeda jank game)
in which every bit of desperate bizarre darkly hilarious and pervasive jank from mess effect andromeda is both deliberately included and expanded upon; these are it's own style and particular flavor in which *cough* "everything's just a little off"
general design concept: "a celebration of jank" in which pseudo-lofty ambitions and severe detrimental gamedev oversites rule
that is: instead of a solid third person shooter carried by interesting believable characters and self-contained episodic storylines "sorry my face is tired" is a playable po-faced sci-fi sitcom populated by unlikable spacefaring nimrods who unrelentingly berate the player with lame-ass yokes and throwaway one-liners approximately every fourteen seconds
general terms for this kind of deliberate-jank and dysjunction: "remnant mystery detection" / "your enthusiasm is infectious" (to be said with half shut eyes) / "the year i only ate paste" / "dialling down the emotions" or "shutting down the arkon" and includes:
**+** is only three hours long; featuring super fast graphics computers
**+** super-generic unoriginal and overly self-serious sci-fi nonsense severely contrasting with actual (pathetic) in-game delivery and presentation aka "lol that's so flocking _weak_"
**+** open world for no discernible reason
**+** the strangest looking character customization presets in the galaxy
**+** laughably unbearable (snarky / quippy / 'whedonesque' welcome-to-the-ouch) dialogue / acting dire camera work and unexpected / flat-out missing reactions (eg 'my dying mom' scene) that 'never quite lands' (understatement); makes 'the room' movie look like the old vic
**+** ridiculous confusing ui
**+** awful narrative tone-deaf dialogue reactions and unfunny pithy one-liners
**+** dead npc eyes with stiff animations jebus posing pouting-penguin lipsync unnerving andor robotic faces odd facial movements sudden 'deeply unnatural posture development' random teleporting and frequent inexplicably weird behaviour
**+** generally buggier than a tackle shop; bugs however are always odd interesting and unique
**+** emergent / 'rando' encounters and events abound
oh to over hype flog then cosmically under-deliver; the only question being is how far will the publisher go ("they're only inhuman after all")
