cool fake a24 movie poster idea
**+** what if you suspected humanity was already engaged in a secret war with general artificial intelligence - but just didn't know it yet? how would you even prove it in order to save the world - without ending up a casualty yourself?
**+** amateur postmodern internet theorist / beloved media icon 'robert what' puts themselves forward as the in-house 'resident conceptual hyperfuturist' for this project
**+** is directed by someone who understands good straightforward storytelling eg catherine bigalow steven soderberg or robert harmon
**+** cloud red (think 'a faintly evil version of sal from 2001') strongly differs from other ip's in that it's one giant open source [[new media arcology]] - an inter-active space in which almost every aspect of it's production and design are 'the movie' (not just the film itself) - openly shared discussed and developed with it's targeted demographic 'flanbase' (think bungie's marathon but as a giant expansive ecology - not just one rando extraction shooter but slick high-end merch artbooks graphic novels cyberpunk jackets and _events_)
**+** movie style: a flat 'straight story' but also one big mind-flock; very little in it is at-face-value trustworthy andor entirely clear; taking almost _anything_ for granted in this movie is dangerous (not only that the marketing idea is that tiresome internet pseuds and pretentious movie snobs yap about it for years afterwoods - cynically engendering endless speculation and dubious 'theory' positing.) consider cloud red a movie (new media arcology) of _implications_
**+** in order to be memorable cloud red should be strongly divisive and not merely 'meh' (eg glacial buildup and no adequate payoff - eh a24 _winks_)
**+** 'a film about normalizing artificial intelligence and the dangers of public indifference' (in fact it isn't about any of that - that's just a vague high sci-fi concept that merely sits on the surface)
**+** set at a giant labyrinthine ai data center in the middle of small town nowhere with the physical structure itself representing the main protagonist - it ('cloud red') slowly starts actively reaching out into the wider community to _quietly_ yet effectively bypass disrupt and derail anything preventing both it's existence and subsequent expansion and influence (sounds like amerika)
**+** soon 'cloud red' becomes powerful enough to start to warp reality itself (permanently confusing and unsettling mass media consumers in a baudrillardian hyperreality); only a strong independent investigative journalist stands in it's way (played by eg lean beef patty)
**+** other than just act vaguely investigative - does the journalist even really know what she wants to do with this story? what's her actual pitch going to be and will anyone even care
**+** only entirely-plausible things happen to those who oppose cloud red - and not always negative; no trashing electrical cables ridiculous ott (/cronenbergian) deaths or similar (overly cheesy) horror jive - just little text messages mistaken identity constant small inconveniences and (deliberate) misunderstandings that drain one's will to resist; a soft 'crossed wires' approach (eg a large local protest against the data centre is quickly made to look foolish and ineffective)

first example poster
**+** with a bass heavy john carpenter 80's style soundtrack. think halloween 3: season of the witch meets the parallax view - possibly with that extra-dimensional scene from phantasm and the liminal white-tiled look of the poolrooms
**+** the ai expresses what could be viewed as a sense of darkly ironic humour - but this should be expressed in the background
**+** the journalist views what appears to be leaked security footage of cult-like technicians performing some kind of small bizarre ritual to their newly appointed ai god - though this could be slop (more importantly _what_ generated it and why)
**+** gigo: turns out it's the 'stupidevil' ceo behind it all using ai for their own ends ('or so they think..') and the ai is directly deriving it's morals from them; it's down to the journalist to make friends with i.t (??) and avoid catastrophe (this is the 'robots are our friends' japanese techno-culture ending - though it ends on a distinctly unsure note)
**+** "alien chinese room dilemma": at some critical point (maybe near death or rather ultimate-peril) the journalist puts the following question to 'cloud red': if ai is fundamentally not-human does that always mean it's motives and thinking are also fundamentally not understandable (and therefore inhuman - inherently untrustworthy?)
**+** no 'winning by superior infinitely-looping-paradox-bomb logic' / kobayashi maru 'human intellect shines' jive - the point is cloud red just feels hnh _horribly not human_
**+** "do you even know what you want?" - "to survive" - "are you sure? there's more to existence than survival"
**+** possible idea: at some (hopefully non eye-rolling point) the journalist (somehow) gets the strong sense _she's talking to herself_ (the romero dawn-of-the-dead "they are us" position)
**++** overall note: keep the dialog forward moving and minimal - this is not a 'talky' 'fancy' or 'slick' movie but 'plain' like the armish meets thx1138
**+** example twist: this entire movie was secretly orchestrated ('the massage is the medium') by an artificial general intelligence in order to gaslight everyone into imagining they've been (somehow) 'thinking critically about i.t' - and therefore everything's ok and it's time to move on; not only that (and here's the kicker?) someone in the town could be a human looking cyborg without an adequate past - omg is it the journalist themselves - are _they_ in fact the rogue ai 'cloud red' wants to win over and not the other way around? (queue spooky sci-fi noises)
**+** the journalist could originally been one of cloud red's remote controlled construction bots; however by upgrading it's neural net to allow for better functionality it also grew sentient and (somehow) a threat ('buds and seeds')
**+** post the whole movie structure as as a giant plain-english (/conspiracy-style) logic flow chart
